Sevaan leads the industry in engineering training
Technology is driving modern engineering and manufacturing techniques, and engineering training opens new opportunities for many industries to innovate and create.
As technology opens up new and exciting opportunities, Sevaan is committed to continuing its reputation as one of the best companies for in-house training opportunities.
Working with a great company and great leaders
Sevaan is a high-performance engineering and fabrication business, with a full scope of trades all under one roof. We invest in cutting-edge machinery, including the Amada Hg 1003 brake press, state-of-the-art CNC machining capability and the best welding, finishing and assembly tools.
Our leadership structure ensures one of our fantastic leaders oversees each division. Many of those in our leadership team have come up through the Sevaan business and have developed into excellent supervisors and managers.
At Sevaan, we aim to promote from within, and the additional training and leadership development programs we implement provide our team members with excellent pathways for turning a job into a career.
Sevaan’s culture centres on learning, teaching and inspiring
Over our 25 years, we have worked hard on creating a culture of learning, teaching and inspiring. We are proud to say that this cultural idea still drives Sevaan daily. It empowers our team to learn, and it empowers our senior members to teach. No question is too simple, and as our workshop develops, we see the senior staff teaching the junior staff about quality and systems and the junior staff teaching the senior staff about technologies and new ways of doing things. It has its rhythm and comes naturally with a smile and a nod.
But it is not just the people on the shop floor or the design team, the estimators, marketing and administration teams doing this. The leadership team designed and implemented the Sevaan Academy several years ago as way to fast track apprenticeships and take workplace training and development to the next level.
The Sevaan Academy
The Sevaan Academy initiative was set up by company directors Jim and Artemis Tzakos to ensure the people who work at Sevaan have every opportunity to develop in the craft and receive training and career opportunities that set them up for a lifelong industry journey. They know that an apprenticeship is more than just learning the basic skills to complete set tasks. They have the vision to develop people into leaders in their chosen fields with the confidence and skills to tackle difficult situations inside and outside the workplace.
“If in 10 or 30 years from now some of our apprentices can turn around and say, ‘I had a wonderful time learning at Sevaan Group,’ that will be our greatest achievement.” ~ Jim Tzakos, Co-Founder and Managing Director
Not just a job, it is a career
At the Sevaan Academy, we focus on team and how to hone skills and deal with responsibility. It is important that everybody here finds their voice and has their say.
“My apprenticeship was really good. When I started here everyone stepped up and helped me when I had questions and were always willing to give me a hand whenever I needed it.” ~ Alex Pratt, Supervisor
From the factory floor to the management team, we invest in training and further education for our employees.
“For me as a supervisor, the leadership program is really important. It teaches us how to approach different situations and get the best out of people. We’ve implemented some changes and we’re seeing the results out of it.” ~ Aaron Freeland, Team Leader, Welding
